Tube chassis - Spdsk8tr

Here is what I am starting with.  The frame is a Diaz Dtrail12, and the body was supplied by the new owner, already painted and ready.

Humble beginnings...

The main section of the interior cage is nearly done.  It'll look much more complete once it's mounted to the scale chassis.

It's a perfect fit inside the body, of course!

Here is the first decision...  Ride height.  Having the rails at this point will raise the body up for a lifted look.  It'll look cool, but we run the risk of it being too top heavy.

This way, the overall weight will be lower, but you lose the cool factor of a lifted rig...

With the body height decided, I got the rails attached.

Getting the rails centered in the body took a lot of measuring and several adjustments, but it came out just right.

I got one side of the exo bent, brazed and attached as my MAPP gas ran out.

A body-off pic with one side of the exo installed.

I finally got to replicate the second side and mount it up.  The rear section is don, mostly.  I might add some more exo-to-frame supports just to be safe.

The front is next, I have to decide on a look.
