Tube chassis - Spdsk8tr
|
|
| Here is what I am starting with. The frame is a Diaz Dtrail12, and the body was supplied by the new owner, already painted and ready. |

| Humble beginnings... |
![]() |
| The main section of the interior cage is nearly done. It'll look much more complete once it's mounted to the scale chassis. |
![]() |
| It's a perfect fit inside the body, of course! |
![]() |
| Here is the first decision... Ride height. Having the rails at this point will raise the body up for a lifted look. It'll look cool, but we run the risk of it being too top heavy. |
![]() |
| This way, the overall weight will be lower, but you lose the cool factor of a lifted rig... |

| With the body height decided, I got the rails attached. |
|
| Getting the rails centered in the body took a lot of measuring and several adjustments, but it came out just right. |
|
| I got one side of the exo bent, brazed and attached as my MAPP gas ran out. |
|
| A body-off pic with one side of the exo installed. |
|
| I
finally got to replicate the second side and mount it up. The rear
section is don, mostly. I might add some more exo-to-frame
supports just to be safe. The front is next, I have to decide on a look. |
