Pimp Slapped TLT Comp Rig

I tore down the tuber and sold the chassis, wanting something different.

Say goodbye to this rig...

...and hello to this one.  Granted, it's just a mockup at the moment.

Specs:

Pro-Line C10
2.2 narrowed Pedes with Moabs
Rock Rings
Pede trans
HiTec 645 steering servo
Holmes Revolver/Mamba brushless
JR XS3 Pro radio
Heavy Duty steering links
Pimp Slap chassis
LiPo battery
Revo shafts
Crawford 1" axle wideners
Aluminum wheel hexes

I got the body painted tonight.  It's Pearl lavender backed with silver, black bed and black logo painted on.

I only wear stickers for products and services used on the vehicle or that I support non-parts-wise, like RC Driver.

I cut it down low for clearance, plus I love the look if the thinner bodies.

Finally got the chassis in.  Okay, it only took a couple days, but it felt longer!

I am still running Revo shafts, but nearly everything has been upgraded.  There is a lathe motor currently in the trans, but I have a brushless setup from Holmes Hobbies on the way.

As you can see, finding places to mount things is a challenge!

I think the battery will have to go on the rear axle, until I ever switch to LiPo (which should be happening in a week or two)

I used the old steering links as the rear lock-out, I still need to repaint them.

The original links that came with the Slap went from the backbone to one of the holes already on the axle, but it interfered with mounting things the way I wanted.  I made some new links and installed them via a link mount on the axle instead.

I did the same thing in the front and used the link to route the servo wire away from danger.

I got this tip from a member of RCC for the front body mounts.  It works great, but the stock TLT body mount are too short for the body height I want.

This is a Christmas gift to me, a new JR synthesized radio.  Sweet.

A shot of the underside shows several screws that I might switch out to lower profile button heads, but we'll see if they are even an issue at all.

The clearance is, well, awesome.

Here i the body posed on it, at the height I plan to run it.  Looks good!

It came with several stickers, this one included.

"I'VE BEEN PIMP SLAPPED"

A new 645MG and The Crawler Store heavy duty steering links will get the tires where I want them.

One more final shot.  I can only wait for the rest of the parts to come in, mainly the brushless motor and esc.

Mamba 25 Brushless controller arrived today

Along with my new Holmes Hobbies Revolver brushless motor.

 MMMMmmmmmmm, so sweet.

I made an antenna/RX/power switch mount to keep everything clean.

My new rock rings came in today s well, the last set of it's kind.

Here is a current shot.  All that's needed is longer body posts and an adaptor plate for the brushless motor.

I suppose it's time to update what's been done to this truck...  Biggest difference is the body.  I ran a full body for a bit, but finally shaved it down, removed the windows and dropped it as low as it would go.

I installed RC4WD bead locks with M2K's, and Airsoft rounds in the front.

The motor was yanked and it's now running a faithful 55t lathe.
The old Rooster was replaced with a new one

I did a BTA swap, it works great and allows for better approach clearance.

Biggest change under the hood was the dig.  On a Pimp, it was tricky,  but it works great.

Broke some steering linkage AND pulled the tire from the bead.

Here marks a massive rebuild.  I sold my High Lift :( but am putting all the money back into my comp truck. RC4WD R2
CheapBatteryPacks 1500Mah 8-cell packs
Mamba Max
Hyperion Z3013 Brushless motor
MIP CVD's
Xtreme RC custom Mo-2k's

Battery packs arrived, what a difference.  I am very pleased so far.  I haven't had much of a chance to run them, I stripped a pinion in the front diff as soon as I got the battery installed.

New body, same as old, just different color.  It's HOT pink, but doesn't seem to capture well on film.  It comes out red.  Faskolor Pink with chrome roof, looks pretty cool...

I know this is a very weak area from the last body I ran, so I reinforced it with a piece of custom fit lexan.

The best sticker I ever put on a comp rig...

Used to be a CVD...
