K2-3S build-up

Here is my latest build.

K2-3S chassis
pede trans
TLT axles
JunFac axle braces
The Crawler Store heavy duty steering
Aluminum High-Lift 1.9 wheels
Tamiya tires
Komodo motor
JR 125 steering servo
Rooster ESC

The lower links are 1/4", and the uppers will be 3/8".  I made some mounting plates for electronics, etc.

It's going to be running a Traxxas radio, seeing as how my new Stampede gave it's life so this truck could live!

Here's a close up of the plates.

I only had room to use two of the pede mounting holes, but they should be enough.

Crappy and unreliable JR125 steering servo will have to work until I can get my hands on a better one.

It's running a set of heavy duty steering links that I won from The Crawler Store on rccrawler!  Nothing like free parts, and these things are awesome.

I traded for these brand new High Lift aluminum wheels, but they don't fit the look of my F350, so they are going on this truck instead.

I am running a Pro-Line Courier, discontinued I guess.  That's too bad, it's a nice little body.

The body is out getting painted by my buddy Peter (Ronbeck).  All I know is that the hood logo will be black, I am leaving the rest up to him.  Should have it back before Christmas, I am trying to finish this truck for my 9 year old as a gift.

Here are some shots of the roller, no electronics yet.  I gave it to my son like this, and he was very excited, mission accomplished!

I like the height and proportions, it looks perfect with the 1.9s.

Electronics are all installed.  Running standard stick packs, Traxxas receiver and a Rooster ESC.

The small black post on the side is a TLT body post with the antenna wrapped around it and shrink-wrapped.

Virtually all the weight is on the front, and it really handles well like this.

Another shot, the other side.

The aluminum top plates I made are held in place by long screws coming up from the bottom of the cross-supports and securing the body posts.  The front and rear are done the same.

The body posts are shortened HPI ones.

Carnage!

It took a good hit sideways and broke the caps of both front shocks.

Not a pretty sight, but I beefed up the suspension a bit after this.

I picked up a set of aluminum caps for the shocks.

I also rethought the rear upper shock mounts, there is no way this kind of damage will happen again.
